Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT) is considered the gold standard
for the treatment of lymphedema at this time. It is a two-phase program consisting
of a treatment phase and a maintenance phase. Treatment is performed daily
(five times per week) for 2-4 weeks. The treatment phase includes Manual
Lymph Drainage (MLD), Skin and Nail Care, Compression Bandaging, and Therapeutic
Exercise. The maintenance phase consists of daily self-care and planned
reassessments with a certified lymphedema therapist.

The Fit for Life Wellness Program is an individualized prescriptive exercise
program designed to reduce cancer treatment-related fatigue. The core components
of the program consist of exercises for flexibility, cardiovascular endurance,
muscle strength and endurance, as well as coordination and balance. The program
includes complete medical and cancer histories, an extensive fitness assessment,
and the development of an individualized exercise program. Individualized exercise
prescription and detailed progressions occur every two weeks, with follow up
assessments recommended at both three and six months.
