Meet Our Staff

John R. Antoni, PT, BSPT, OCS

Mr. Antoni is the owner and primary care provider at New Horizons Physical Therapy. 2012 marks Mr. Antoni's 34th anniversary as a physical therapist. Thirty-four years of clinical experience is indeed a major milestone, however, it is not the measure of time passed that is important. It is the amount of rich, dynamic interaction and collaboration between a therapist and his colleagues, instructors, doctors, mentors, students and most significantly patients, coupled with a persistent quest for understanding that is the true measure of experience. Mr. Antoni has been very fortunate and is thankful to the many remarkable individuals and opportunities he has encountered throughout his career, and looks forward to many more such encounters in the future. (perhaps you will be one of those remarkable individuals!).

Mr. Antoni is the proud father of five wonderful children and a cute little granddaughter. He is an avid sportsman, participating in basketball and crew in college and camping, hiking, white water rafting, mountain biking, skiing and racquetball whenever time permits.

Education

Mr. Antoni received his Bachelors degree in physical therapy from California State University in Long Beach in 1978. In 1990, after more than a decade of clinical experience and extensive continuing education courses in orthopedic and sports physical therapy, Mr. Antoni decided to return to the academic arena. He applied to, and was accepted into, the yearlong Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency at Kaiser Permanente in Los Angeles. He successfully completed his residency on December 20, 1991. The education and experience gained in this year of residency was invaluable to Mr. Antoni's professional development. The following year, Mr. Antoni successfully passed the Orthopedic Physical Therapy Specialty certification examination.

Tamora Van Driel

Ms. Van Driel is our office manager extraordinaire. She has been with New Horizons Physical Therapy for over ten years and keeps all our patients and their paperwork very well organized. Tamora is one of friendliest people you will ever encounter, and she is always happy to help with any billing or insurance questions. Whenever you're at our office you just might hear her whistling or singing along with any tune that happens to play on the radio. To everyone's amazement, she knows the words to just about all of them!

Kristen Frawley

Kristen is the newest addition to the New Horizons staff. Kristen is our physical therapy pool class instructor, which is on Tuesday and Thursday at 11AM She also helps us out in both the front and back office. She likes to keep in shape, which helps her keep up with her two little boys and has competed in several local triathlons.

Ken Martz

Ken started at New Horizons in a rather unique way. He was one of our patients! Just as his rehab was winding down we had an opening for another physical therapy aide and he decided to apply. And are we glad he did! There is a saying "A Jack of all trades is better than a Master of one", and Ken certainly fits that description. He is always willing and able to help us out in so many different ways, anything from clearing snow to keeping our pool pristine clear. His personal experiences in rehab have helped make Ken a very effective and understanding aide. In addition, he and his lovely wife are very active in varied community work through their church.
